My name is Taylor Moxley, and I am a Bonner Scholar at Emory and Henry College. I am from Martinsville, Virginia, and I am a senior studying civic innovation. Throughout my time at Emory and Henry I have spent many hours serving in the surrounding communities. As a Bonner Scholar, I am required to do 280 hours of service each academic year, 280 during two summers, and I chose to do an additional 140 hours a third summer. In return, I receive a scholarship to help cover the costs of attending Emory and Henry. During the summer, I received a living stipend for the hours I completed.
I was also an AmeriCorps member for my first two years of college. This went hand-in-hand with the service I was doing for Bonner, so I was able to receive scholarship money through this program as well. This portfolio will highlight the service opportunities I had during my four years of college as a Bonner Scholar and AmeriCorps member.
